Traditional Self Yew Longbow crafting Instructional Workshops are being offered by Pacific Yew, Inc., held at our shop and classroom site at 31604 SE Redmond-Fall City Rd., Fall City, Washington. Workshops conducted by Jay St. Charles.

Mr. St. Charles, a full time working yew bowyer for over 15 years, has been conducting yew longbow workshops since 1995 - with over 500 successful students in participation. A second generation yew bowyer and longtime student of the art, Jay is able translate his knowledge of the past into most enjoyable high content workshop experience.

Self Yew longbow in English Style "D" with horn nocks or in North American semi-flat is crafted over three very full days - Friday, Saturday, Sunday, according to schedule. In the course of this all hands-on workshop, learn how optimize billet layout, effective splicing and gluing, bow layout, teaching your self stave to bend, fine tillering with hand tools, reaching fine tiller in the irregular limb. Intended as a "jump-start" to crafting your own fine self longbows. All materials supplied.

$795.00 per individual

Maximum 4 participants per session

 

Workshop fees covers yew bow stave, the use of all tools, sandpaper, finish, adhesives and other materials. No prior bowcrafting experience is required, only a strong interest in the fundamentals of building the Self Yew Longbows is requested. A deposit of $150.00 is required to comfirm workshop registration. Space is limited, so register early by mail or phone.
